They are dental appliances can be easily worn in your mouth and are effective for snoring treatment plus mild or moderate sleep apnea

How do mouthpieces work?

The anti snoring mouthpieces being worn inside your mouth they set your jaw forward and raise the soft palate so prevent the soft throat tissues from collapsing and obstructing the airway when you sleep. Simply this will increase the space inside the throat required for air flow and the air flow will be silent .

How can I get a stop snoring Mouth piece

In order to get this mouthpiece it is very important to consult a dentist at first.

There are 2 types of dental appliances you can chose

1. Dental devices that are Custom made by your dentist.

   This is the standard method to get the mouthpieces. they are moulded per your mouth size and shape and of coarse they are better regarding to their better effect and less side effects as they ensure a correct fit without causing problems but they are more expensive than the ready made devices

2. Over the counter dental devices " Molded per any mouth shape or size".

   Over-the-counter mandibular advancement splints provide the same benefits if fitted correctly.
   They are usually made from an EVA polymer and are similar in appearance to protective mouth-guards worn for sports. . They are available in various sizes.
   One disadvantage of the cheaper devices compared to the professionally fitted devices is the difficulty in setting up the correct jaw position. An over-advanced jaw results in jaw joint pain, whilst an under-advanced jaw produces no therapeutic effect.
   The advantages are They cost less as compared to getting a special mouthpiece molded for you. and you can get a new one easily

• Effective for mild and moderate sleep apnea

What are the side effects of stop snoring mouthpieces

There are few problems appeared in patients who have been using mouthpieces the most common are

• Surplus salivation
• Gradual shifting of teeth positions
• Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems

So it is very important that you consult your dentist before you get those dental appliances. Also after using them for few months, you should have a check up to make sure that there is no problem in your teeth after using the mouthpiece.
